Oh, The Horror

So, I meant to work on the TANKERS project today, but then I got distracted. In and of itself, that’s not unusual. I get distracted a lot, but this time, it’s…different.

I’m considering cosplay. Specifically, Catman cosplay.

Don’t judge me.

It turns out that putting together a decent Catman outfit isn’t that hard. A dancer’s unitard makes for an excellent base. Add some brown shorts (probably custom-made, but not that hard) and you’ve got 95% of the work done. Boots and gloves are relatively easy mods, and the utility belt is mostly off the shelf.

That leaves the cape and cowl. The cape, again, isn’t that tough to sew. The cowl, though, presents a few challenges. I’ve never worked with liquid latex, but it seems to be the preferred method for building a rigid cowl. Fortunately, there are about a million tutorials for building a Batman cowl, and the Catman cowl is basically identical, save for ear size and coloring.

I’m hoping to have this ready to go by Emerald City Comic Con at the end of March.

Now, if only I can convince someone to do some Huntress cosplay…

  1. I.. didn’t know there WAS a Catman. I am sure I should feel some kind of shame, but.. well.. Cosplay is Cosplay, and if you want to be Catman, then damn it man, get that costume ready!

We are trying to make it to Emerald City Comic Con. I just survived PAX in Seattle, I’m sure I could make it there, too.

There is! Check out Gail Simone’s Secret Six. It’s fairly awesome, and he’s quite prominent in the book.
